Postgraduate Study

We currently run an MA programme in linguistics, and an MA in Writing in association with the National Academy of Writing. We also offer supervision for the research degrees of MPhil and PhD, and we are devising a taught doctorate in English to be offered in the near future.

MA English Linguistics (distance learning, part-time only)

This course covers a range of formal, social and historical approaches to the English Language, including modules on language description, words and meaning, spoken communication, narrative analysis and the history of the language.
