Options for 2010-11
BA Year 2 and 3 Options for 2010-11 will be published on this site at the start of April. They will also appear on the BA Student Information Moodle site. Briefing meetings have been scheduled as follows:
Tuesday April 20th, 1pm, B612: Students selecting Year 2 modules
Wednesday April 21st, 1pm, B612: Students selecting Year 3 modules.
Module selections will be made via Moodle, and further details of the process will be published here shortly.

2010 Orator's Prize Winner
The School of English is delighted to announce the first winner of a new prize founded to showcase the work of NAW students in the annual graduation brochure. The brief was to write no more than 400 words on a theme suitable for the event and congratulations go to Federay Holmes, who receives £150 plus publication in the brochure. Her work will be read by more than 20,000 people during a series of ceremonies in January and February 2010. Federay's winning entry is available online here.

AHRC funding for Research & Development Unit
The Research and Development Unit for English Studies (RDUES) in the School has recently secured a research project worth £92k, funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council, to develop a learning resource for use at secondary school level. The Knowledge Transfer Fellowship award will fund a new project designed to introduce the WebCorp Linguist's Search Engine (WebCorpLSE) as a state-of-the-art curriculum resource for the teaching of A-level English Language.

Further successes for our Diploma in Writing cohort
Richard Howse made the top 20 in the Screenwriters’ Festival 2007 Fever Pitch Competition and had his script sent to channel 4 for consideration.
Robert Ronsson (also known as Robert Ireland) won the latest Button Bridge Books short story competition.
Amy Seely has been approached by a producer to write a screenplay about ‘rock and roll lifestyles in 70s California centred around the life of Terry Reid (aka "Superlungs"). More details to follow when she’s further along with negotiations.
and Federay Holmes, a member of the new cohort , has had a story accepted for literary magazine Bad Idea
